RETURN OF DAVE ROGERS' BIG BUGS!
Big Bugs invade Powell Gardens this summer along with lots of fun activities. See 11 super-sized sculptures made from natural materials—from a trio of 700-pound ants to a 10-foot-tall Daddy Long Legs. Join a tour with the creator himself on opening weekend and then catch and release real bugs. Other weekends will feature an observation beehive and an ant farm, a ladybug launch, edible bug treats and more. More details here. In conjunction with this exhibit of oversized bugs, we're growing some monstrously large vegetables. Join our contests to guess how large they'll grow.

24th ANNUAL HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR (FAMILY, GRADES K-4)
Turns out the Powell Gardens Halloween Spooktacular has been a family tradition since 1986. A recently rediscovered 1989 copy of Powell Gardens' Garden Horizon newsletter lists the event as the "Third Annual Halloween Spooktacular," and the event has continued to be a family favorite ever since. Continue or start a new family tradition this year.

What's new this year? Meet Simba, Aladdin and Tianna. Plus, the Powell Rangers stumble upon a stinky surprise. All will be illuminated in the light of hundreds of eerily carved jack-o-lanterns and luminaries along the lighted path. "Forgotten" and fractured fairytales come to life. Wear your costume and comfortable walking shoes, bring a trick-or-treat bag, and get ready for a spooktacular time! Refreshments will be served following the tour. Come early and enjoy spooky grub in Cafe Thyme and take a walk through our spooky Glow Lab. All this and more at Powell Gardens 24th Annual Halloween Spooktacular.

Please note: Space is limited and pre-registration is required for all participants including adults. Call early to purchase your tickets and schedule your tour time. Call Linda at 816-697-2600 ext. 209 to schedule a time. To enable more children to participate, please limit adult participation to two adults per child.
