Welcome back to Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s botanical garden!
All guests must have tickets for admission. Members receive free general and festival admission for as many as their membership level allows (exclusions may apply). Garden hours and offerings vary based on the season and special events.
Purchase General Admission
Powell Gardens is currently open Wednesday-Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.* General admission is available through November 2, 2025.
Dark Forest will take place on select evenings this fall. Purchase tickets for October 17-18, 23 (21+), 24-25, 30-31, and November 1, 2025.
SAVE ON TICKETS: Take $5 off 8:30 and 9 p.m. tickets with code “SAVE5DF”. Take $7 off tickets on Halloween (Friday, October 31, 2025) with the code “HALLOW31”. Discounts cannot be stacked or retroactively applied.

Evergy Festival of Lights will take place on select evenings from November 20, 2025 – January 3, 2026. Purchase tickets for November 20-23, 28-30, December 4-6, 11-13, 19-23, 26-29, and January 2-3, 2026.

Evergy Festival of Lights is closed Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Group Rates
Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more adults during non-festival dates. Discount admission is also available for groups of 15 or more adults during Festival of Butterflies and Festival of Lights.
The discounted rate for adults tickets is $13 and $11 for seniors (65+). Tickets must be booked 48 hours in advance.

Group Tours
Group tour packages at Powell Gardens include food and/or drink, a tour, and a short program. Admission to Powell Gardens is included.
While the group is eating, a staff member from the Education, Public Programming, or Horticulture department will give a short (15 minute program). The seasonal highlight tour is a short, guided tour of a specific garden or horticulture highlight in bloom.

Group tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance with a minimum of 14 adults attending.
Groups will have their food and drink in the Terrace room. If additional rental time is requested outside of the meal hour, the group will need to rent the Terrace Room.
Please note: Group Tour Guide and Bus driver will get free admission. Group Tours will not be sold during the Festival of Butterflies or Festival of Lights. At time of reservation, 50% of the group tour fee is due. The remaining balance is due the day of the reservation.
Package Options:
- Morning (10:30 a.m.) | Assorted pastries & coffee, short program (15 minutes) and seasonal highlight garden tour. $30 per person.
- Lunch (11:30 a.m.) | Plated lunch (sandwich/salad or salad/soup,) drink served on linens and glassware. Short program (15 minutes) and seasonal highlight garden tour. $50 per person.
- Lunch (11:30 a.m.) | Boxed lunch (sandwich, chips & cookie), bottled drink, short program (15 minutes), and seasonal highlight garden tour. $40 per person.
- Afternoon (1 p.m.) | Assorted sweets, coffee, tea, and lemonade, short program (15 minutes) and seasonal highlight garden tour. $30 per person.
Add-Ons
- Room Rental – Daytime rental $175 per hour.
- Non-profits receive a 20% discount for room rental only.
- Horticultural specific presentations are available upon request for $200.
