Volunteering at Powell Gardens
Learn something new, meet friends, have fun, make a difference…
Volunteers are an integral part of Powell Gardens. Walk around the Gardens and you can't miss the work of volunteers. Stop at the Tasting Station—you’ll meet a volunteer. Come to a festival and paint a pot, play a game or buy some popcorn—all thanks to volunteers. It takes a lot of people working really hard while having fun to make Powell Gardens the beautiful place it is.
Come for a weekly shift with a gardening team or choose to work solo. Come every other week or just for special events. Come with friends or relatives or come on your own. Come just for the summer or come year-round—the choice is yours!
Retired folks, college interns, teens fulfilling community service for school credit, master gardeners and master naturalists all find a place to volunteer at Powell Gardens. We know you will enjoy volunteering at Powell Gardens and we are committed to helping you find the right opportunity for you.
Volunteer Perks
As a Powell Gardens' volunteer, you receive free admission any time you come to the Gardens. Volunteers also receive member discounts on classes and in the gift shop and are special guests at several volunteer appreciation events throughout the year.

Did you know? Being a Powell Gardens' volunteer is one of the endeavors in my life that I am so proud of … the Garden is a sanctuary for one's soul and to know I play a tiny part in its upkeep pleases me greatly. Robbie M, Greenhouse Volunteer
