Reconnect, Recharge and Relax with a Garden Adventure
A visit to Powell Gardens is a great way to reconnect with your family and the wonders of the natural world. Here's how to plan the perfect outing:
Tour the Gardens
Explore the winding paths of Powell Gardens at your leisure, planning play stops along the way. A few visitor favorites include the sand box on the way to the Island Garden, the mulch paths in the Rock & Waterfall Garden and watching the fish off the Perennial Garden Arbor. (All of these areas are included with your regular Garden admission.) See an overview of the Gardens here.
Peer into the eyes of a giant praying mantis, imagine life as a chicken and hop on the famous Missouri mule for a photo op in our youth education garden, a part of the larger Heartland Harvest Garden. Don't forget to explore the Worm Dig for some real hands-on fun! All of these activities are included in your regular Garden admission.
This is the cool spot to be in the heat of the summer. Bring towels and sun block and swim diapers for the little ones.
You'll find lots of kid-friendly activities every month of the year! Check the Calendar of Events for a full listing or to see what’s happening on any given day.
Check back in 2017 to see what we have planned!
A Few Planning Notes
If your children are young, don't forget a stroller or wagon for touring. Restrooms, drinking fountains and gift shops with great souvenirs are available at the Visitor Education Center.
